The Nioh 2 release date is coming soon, with the prequel to Team Ninja’s action RPG set to launch next month. One of the most highly anticipated releases of the year, it will teleport players to the late 1500s, before the events of the original game.
What is the Nioh 2 release date?
The Nioh 2 release date is March 13, 2020. The game will launch exclusively on PS4, with Team Ninja once again heading up development while Sony will publish the game worldwide, with Koei Tecmo publishing in Japan.
Like the first entry in the series, the prequel takes place in feudal Japan with a combat system heavily inspired by the Dark Souls series. Players will take control of a created character who was previously a yōkai spirit, with them then able to transform into this yōkai if they deposit the Soul Cores they earn from defeating rivals into a shrine.
