Resident Evil 3 Remake Leak Shows Disgusting New Enemy

With the launch of the Resident Evil 3 remake just weeks away, Capcom has been keeping the hype alive by releasing new screenshots on a regular basis. The latest batch of Resident Evil 3 remake screenshots show Jill Valentine confronting Nemesis, but a new set of screenshots have leaked ahead of time, showing a monster that hasn't been seen in the remake until now.
The monster in question is either the Hunter Y creature or the Grave Digger. We've known for some time that the Grave Digger enemy would be returning in the Resident Evil 3 remake, but nothing's been said about Hunter Y. For those who don't know about Hunter Y, it's a variant of the reptilian Hunter enemy that's been in the games since the original, but with a more frog-like appearance.
Until Capcom releases these new Resident Evil 3 remake screenshots itself, we can't identify this creature with certainty. As previously stated, the most likely scenario is that this thing is Hunter Y or Grave Digger, but it's also possible that it's a brand new monster created specifically for the remake. With the Resident Evil 3 remake release date right around the corner, more information should come sooner rather than later.
Just like the Resident Evil 2 remake, the Resident Evil 3 remake is striving to be as faithful to the original game as possible. Therefore, it's not all that surprising to see that many of the original game's monsters and enemies have been confirmed for the remake. One enemy type that fans are still waiting to hear about, though, are the crow enemies that used to be a mainstay but have been mostly phased out since Resident Evil 4. There's a rumor going around that the Resident Evil 3 remake will bring back crows, but nothing has been confirmed at the time of this writing.
Even if crows and other enemy types aren't featured in the Resident Evil 3 remake main game, it's possible that they could pop up in the game's multiplayer component. The Resident Evil Resistance asymmetrical multiplayer mode is set to launch alongside the Resident Evil 3 remake, and it will feature characters, enemies, and scenarios that are completely divorced from the main game. This opens the door to the possibility of all sorts of Resident Evil monsters from the franchise's past making an appearance.
Resident Evil fans can expect to learn more about the monster lineups for both the Resident Evil Resistance multiplayer mode and the Resident Evil 3 remake single-player experience in the coming weeks.
Resident Evil 3 launches on April 3 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
