While Starfield is easily the biggest title coming out from Bethesda this year, it isn’t their sole release for 2023. They had the surprise hit HI-FI RUSH but Arkane Studios’ Redfall was poorly received.
In a new interview, head of global publishing Pete Hines was asked about the game in an interview that was primarily about the upcoming Starfield. He was asked Redfall’s failure might’ve changed things internally for the company.
“We are always in a process of learning, so that’s not new for us. We don’t like failing to meet our players’ expectations.” Hines said to Gamesindustry.biz. “At the same time, we are the same company that has had launches that didn’t go the way we wanted, and we don’t quit or abandon stuff just because it didn’t start right.”
Redfall is available for the Xbox Series X/S and Microsoft Windows (through Steam).
