Ascendant Studios will take a "few extra weeks" to "polish the game, finish optimizing all platforms, and deliver a strong launch."
Fresh off of a new trailer reveal and previews at Summer Game Fest, Ascendant Studios has announced a delay for Immortals of Aveum. Originally set to release on July 20th, it’s now launching on August 22nd for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. CEO and game director Bret Robbins revealed that the team will take a few “extra weeks” to realize its “full vision.”
“The recent feedback to the game proves to us what we already felt: that Immortals of Aveum is something special. To realize our full vision, we are going to take a few extra weeks, making our new launch date Tuesday, August 22nd. It will give us time to further polish the game, finish optimizing all platforms, and deliver a strong launch. We owe it to ourselves and to you to get this right.”
More details will be revealed in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. Immortals of Aveum started development five years ago on Unreal Engine 5.1 and uses technologies like Nanite and Lumen. The single-player first-person shooter offers 20-25 hours of gameplay, and that’s for those focusing on the story.
You can discover optional paths and other hidden content, using new abilities to progress through previously inaccessible areas. That’s not including the sheer amount of customization, with 25 Spells, 80 Talents and “hundreds” of gear pieces for protagonist Jak to wield.
