#Gamers #HarleyQuinn Spin-Off Gets Big Update:

The Harley Quinn spinoff series starring Kite Man received a new update from Warner Bros Discovery, and it has some surprising implications.

HBO Max's unconventional animated comedy Harley Quinn has been incredibly successful - so much so that a spin-off show highlighting Kite Man and more DC's villains will come soon. While details about the show remain under wraps, one piece of information has materialized that implies changes to the initial concept.

In March 2022, Harley Quinn showrunner Patrick Schumaker announced that a Kite Man spin-off of the popular show was on the way. When it was announced, the show was titled Noonan's - after the villain bar featured in Harley Quinn - and would focus on the villains in Gotham that don't get as much screentime in Harley Quinn. The series is currently in the early stages of development, meaning plenty of changes are bound to happen. One such change has already been implemented - the show will no longer be called Noonan's.

Rather than referencing the bar Harley often haunts in Harley Quinn, the title now references one character: Kite Man. An official press listing from Warner Bros. Discovery reveals the show formerly known as Noonan's will now be Kite Man: Hell Yeah! So far, there has been no official explanation for the title change.

Introduced in Harley Quinn, Kite Man is the son of two metahumans but has no superpowers. He uses a kite suit to fly around Gotham, commit crimes, and pick up women. He and Poison Ivy became involved with one another, but after realizing Ivy wasn’t in love with him like he was with her, Kite Man broke things off. This version of Kite Man is generally happy-go-lucky and goofy, a departure from some of his more dramatic iterations. For example, the Kite Man portrayed in Batman: The Brave and the Bold is more similar to most Batman villains in that one of his obsessions caused him psychological trauma that set him down a dark path of crime and violence. While most of the villains in Harley Quinn are portrayed with more humor than in other DC iterations, Kite Man is specifically devoid of trauma; instead, his conflict comes from his parents being disappointed that he has no superpowers.

The title’s change in focus suggests that there has been a change in direction for the show. Rather than focusing on a wide variety of Gotham's villains, the spin-off will now concentrate mainly on Kite-Man as he teams up with villains fans knew and loved from Harley Quinn. The change in the title also confirms what fans had been assuming: that the show will have a similar tone to Harley Quinn. While it’s still unclear what hijinks Kite Man will get into as the star of his own show, it’s clear that whatever he gets up to will probably cause just as much chaos for Gotham as Harley Quinn's antics.

Harley Quinn seasons 1-3 are available to stream now on Max.
