A popular Overwatch 2 streamer managed to pull off a smart Lifeweaver trick that trapped his enemy. The newest Overwatch 2 support hero has been the subject of many impressive plays within the community, with many players usually utilizing Lifeweaver's kit to counter their opponents' abilities.
As a support, Lifeweaver heals his allies using Healing Blossom and Tree of Life, and he also shields them using Life Grip while pulling them toward him. He also has an ability called Petal Platform, which spawns a lotus-shaped platform that springs upward when Lifeweaver or any hero steps on it. This is great for getting away from fights quickly, and can also cancel opponents' abilities when triggered at the right moment.
Overwatch 2 streamer Fitzy found another use for Lifeweaver's Petal Platform during a match in Numbani: trapping enemies in corners to get an easy kill. He posted a 15-second Twitter clip that showed him in a 1v1 fight with an enemy Orisa, who was attempting to approach the first capture point to force an overtime. But Fitzy placed a Petal Platform in the doorway, which sprung upward when he and Orisa stepped on it. The latter's awkward position and the fact that they couldn't get off the platform probably surprised them as Fitzy shot them and clutched out a win for his team. The video ended with the streamer laughing, seemingly satisfied with the trick he'd done.

In the replies, many Overwatch 2 fans were impressed by Fitzy's Lifeweaver play, and laughing at how "evil" the platform trick was. One said the Twitter clip has compelled them to try out the support hero in their next game.
Previously, players had expressed concerns over Lifeweaver's hitbox and kit shortly after he was released. But now that there are impressive and hilarious clips showing how effective Lifeweaver's abilities are in offensive combat, it seems like more and more people are starting to see his value in team comps. Likewise, it will be exciting to see how pro Overwatch players would use this hero in the pro league.
Outside of gameplay, there are some players who seem invested in Lifeweaver's story because they feel represented by his pansexuality. In fact, his flirty voice lines while speaking to Baptiste seemed to hint that the two might have a brewing romance. From his unique abilities to his colorful background, it's clear that Lifeweaver is becoming a favorite within the Overwatch 2 community.
