Tron: Identity has only just left the Grid, and yet Disney has already made it clear that there’ll be plenty more future endeavours to look forward to on consoles and PC.
In a bid to elevate the Tron IP, both Disney and its collaborating studio, Bithell Games, will be casting its focus on developing additional video games for a multitude of platforms. Announced during an interview posted on Disney D23, Disney Games producer Heidy Vargas said that the two outfits will be launching several more projects over the coming years. And while it wasn’t mentioned when these games would be coming, Vargas did state that Tron: Identity would be the start of its joint venture. So, plenty to look forward to there, then.
“There are a few other projects in the works that I can’t mention yet, but of course, Tron: Identity is the start of Bithell Games’ collaboration with Disney on Tron-dedicated games,” Vargas commented. “Players can expect more Tron titles to come in the future, but for now we are excited to bring you Tron: Identity on April 11!”
So, what does this mean for the Grid, and when can we expect to see a few more layers come to light? Well, going by what Vargas commented in the interview piece, it’s still anybody guess. That said, if another chapter is in the cards, then chances are it’ll be prepping for a formal announcement later this year at the very earliest.
