If you plan on getting an Xbox Series X rather than a PlayStation 5, you might feel dismayed to read that Quantum Error will be a PS5 exclusive. But is a Quantum Error Xbox Series X release possible later down the line? It appears that the developer is open to it.
Eventually, Quantum Error Might Make Its Way to Xbox Series X
Talking to Gaming Bolt, Quantum Error developer Team Kill Media said, “We won’t say never [regarding an Xbox Series X port]. However, at this time our focus is with PlayStation.”
Why is the game only going to be on PS5 for now? Team Kill Media explained, “There are many reasons. The simplest being we are comfortable with the PlayStation system, our relationship with Sony has been amazing and feel that our game will run its very best on the PlayStation platform.”
The developer also commented on cross-platform development for PS4, saying, “At the moment our focus is primarily on the PS5, so at first everything is going to be calibrated for that platform and we won’t do most of the optimizing for the PS4 until we are close to being finished.”
So, there you have it. Team Kill Media just wants to be super focused with one platform (PS5) right now to make the best possible game in terms of next gen performance. After that, they’ll concentrate on PS4. And maybe someday, they’ll calibrate it for Xbox Series X.
Quantum Error is currently described simply as a “cosmic-horror first-person shooter” by Team Kill Media. But you can watch a teaser trailer for the game below.
