Call of Duty Mobile Test Server Brings New Maps, Game Modes

Call of Duty: Mobile recently launched a test server, allowing players to get a sneak-peek of new features that will be added to the game by the end of the month. There are a few limitations — the test server is only available on Android and it ends on April 21 — but the amount of content being tried out is staggering.

For starters, three new game modes are being tested. These include Kill Confirmed, Capture the Flag, and a one vs. one mode. Anyone who's played another game in the Call of Duty series will be familiar with Kill Confirmed. When killed, enemies drop a dog tag that must be picked up to score a point. Capture the Flag is — well, it's capture the flag. Team's are tasked with collecting the opponent's flag and returning it to their own base. The one vs one mode is played on the Saloon map and is a pretty straightforward shootout between two competitors.

the Saloon map is one of two being tested. Saloon will be exclusive to Call of Duty: Mobile and is being tailormade for the one vs one mode. It's a close-quarter map that lends itself well to quick, intense encounters. Rust, on the other hand, is returning from Modern Warfare and should be an immediate hit.

Other tweaks include interface overhauls, new operator skills, and adjustments to the battle royale map.

Once all the kinks have been ironed out on the test server, these additions are expected to land on the main server for all players. Activision hopes to have this implemented by the end of the month. From what we can tell, the test seems to be going off without a hitch. Once the server closes on April 21, the team will get to work squashing the last of the bugs and opening up the content to both iOS and Android players.

Call of Duty: Mobile has been a resounding success since launching late last year. The mobile adaptation of the popular franchise has grossed over $54 million and shows no signs of slowing down.
