Just days ago, Microsoft added two new games to its highly-popular Xbox Game Pass service: co-op puzzle game Death Squared and 2D action platformer Death's Gambit. Now, the company has revealed that several other titles will be leaving Xbox Game Pass soon, and indeed there are some significant games among them.
More specifically, Batman: Return to Arkham, Just Cause 4, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Snake Pass are all now listed as "leaving soon" within the Xbox Game Pass app. While no definitive date for the removal of these titles from Xbox Game Pass has been revealed at this time, fans should expect them to be gone by the end of February, and players that are interested in completing any of them should certainly act fast.
For the uninitiated, when a game leaves Xbox Game Pass, subscribers no longer have access to the title at all, even if they had installed it during the free period. While Xbox Game Pass subscribers can often pickup games that are removed from the service at a discount, seeing titles exit always leaves some fans disappointed, especially when they are on the level of the games included in this latest batch.
Indeed, the majority of the games now set to be taken off of Xbox Game Pass are AAA titles from big name developers, and while the critical reception that these games received varied, they are undoubtedly noteworthy. Among the bunch, Rise of the Tomb Raider was perhaps the best received, but Batman: Return to Arkham, which contains remastered versions of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, is also worth a look from anyone that missed out on those standout action-adventure games.
At the end of January, Microsoft indicated that February was going to be a really good month for Xbox Game Pass, and while this suggestion probably did not bring the removal of these four games to mind for many fans, there have been some big additions to the service this month. Namely, the Xbox Game Pass February 2020 included Final Fantasy 15 and Wolfenstein: Younblood, and perhaps this latest batch of removals will pave the way for some heavy hitters to be added to Xbox Game Pass in March.
