Outriders is a sci-fi co-op shooter with elemental superpowers arriving to all the platforms in 2020

Publisher Square-Enix and developer People Can Fly (who many will remember for their work on shooters like Bulletstorm and Gears of War: Judgment) are crafting another co-op cover shooter. This one, however, appears to blend action gunplay with over-the-top elemental superpowered abilities. Say hello to Outriders, a new game due at the end of this year for all platforms. As in, every single one, including the PS5 and Xbox Series X as well as PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
In Outriders, players take control of one of three classes — Trickster, Pyromancer, and Devastator — as they explore the planet of Enoch as well as the strange powers granted to them by a force known as the anomaly. These powers include the ability to summon flame, cover themselves in earth, freeze foes, or teleport and alter time. Outriders features drop-in drop-out co-op gameplay, meaning three people can hop in and wreck things together anytime they want.
An upcoming feature will grant a look at how these three classes operate as well as its cover-based shooting and its RPG elements, but if you can’t wait for any of that, there’s a sizzle trailer as well as a livestream from the devs that aired on YouTube this past Thursday which we’ve embedded below.
